Associate Drafting Specialist

Tempe, AZ

Stryker is seeking an Associate Drafting Specialist within our Research & Development team, you’ll help bring innovative medical technologies to life. Join a collaborative team where your creativity and precision make a real impact on patient outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Create and update 2D engineering drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards and internal guidelines
  • Coordinate with design engineers to detail components and assemblies, resolving design issues and ensuring accuracy of design intent
  • Review engineering drawings to confirm completeness, compliance with standards, and readiness for release within defined timelines
  • Transfer legacy CAD files and drawings from PLM systems into SolidWorks PDM, updating formats to current standards and maintaining data integrity
  • Operate and maintain in-house tools including 3D printers and 3D scanners to support prototyping and design validation activities
  • Build and test simple fixtures and assemblies to support engineering projects and verify design functionality
  • Maintain and update CAD templates, drawing standards, and best practices in alignment with internal and industry requirements
  • Prioritize assigned work and communicate task status, timelines, and updates to project stakeholders

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma plus 5+ years relevant work experience or associate degree plus 2+ years relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software in a professional setting. 
  • Understanding of drafting standards and dimensioning practices. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. 
  • Previous experience in CAD modeling, assembly creation, drawing development, and product data management using SolidWorks.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP) certification.
  • SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or SolidWorks Expert (CSWE) certification.

Pay rate will not be below any applicable local minimum wage rates.


  • $31.92 - $44.88 USD Hourly
