Position Summary:

  • Primarily responsible for preparation and review of intermediate to complex federal, state and US international tax returns, including performing tax technical research as necessary and documenting tax positions
  • Integral member of highly respected, dynamic global tax team
  • Collaborates with the Business Unit and Global Tax personnel as well as cross-functional departments

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review intermediate to complex federal and state/local income and franchise tax returns
  • Prepare and/or review intermediate to complex U.S. tax forms relating to international entities, transactions and the foreign tax credit including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 926 and 1118
  • Review and prepare calculations of earnings & profits, tax pools and basis of foreign subsidiaries
  • Review and prepare transfer pricing documentation and planning studies for inter-company pricing arrangements between related parties
  • Compute federal and state estimated tax payments at a level which will avoid tax penalties and maximize the company's cash flow
  • Participate in the quarterly, year-end provision and budget tax provision process, including reviewing tax provision reporting packages and performing US tax provision tasks as assigned
  • Perform federal and state tax technical research including preparation and/or review of tax technical memos
  • Respond to federal, state and local tax audit inquiries and jurisdictional tax notices
  • Assist in the development of system improvements in the tax compliance area
  • Participate in tax planning projects and tax integration projects as assigned
  • Assist tax managers with special projects as needed
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with global tax strategy team, global tax accounting and reporting team, business unit and group tax leaders, and cross-functional partners

Education & Special Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or comparable education
  • Professional certification and/or advanced degree preferred

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in a corporate tax department, public accounting firm or comparable experience
  • Fortune 500 corporate tax department or International CPA firm experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state and/or international taxation including an understanding of the basic federal income tax concepts for a company with business, operations and transactions in multiple jurisdictions required
  • Basic knowledge of state income tax concepts including apportionment, combined/unitary tax and multistate reporting required
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) particularly Accounting Standards Codification 740, Income Taxes (ASC 740) preferred
  • Experience with tax and financial accounting software (i.e. Corptax, Hyperion, etc.) preferred
  • Strong tax research and analytical skills
