What you will do

  • Independently design and implement complex concepts and systems including system architectural design, relevant design documentation, test planning and execution
  • Specialize in various technology domains and evaluates new technologies
  • Support designs and the selection of platform technologies
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements in cooperation with other engineering disciplines, QA/RA/AO, etc.
  • Maintain and improve engineering methods and practices
  • Train and mentor regarding established engineering best practices, design principles, processes and tools
  • Work with core team to determine project schedules and time commitments of self and other functional project team members and be able to clearly communicate status of assignments to project management.
  • Perform holistic problem analysis
  • Design and implement solutions to address identified problems
  • Support the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies
  • Work independently with surgeon customers in a user setting, clearly communicate design goals and incorporate feedback into designs
  • Participate in, solicit feedback and document reports as needed on cadaveric evaluations

What you need

  • BS in Engineering or related
  • Minimum of 6+ years’ experience
  • Systems engineering principles as it applies to medical device development from concept phase to final design and commercial release
  • Experience in documenting system design and architecture in SysML
  • Demonstrated creative thinking skills
  • The use of risk management practices applied to medical device development
  • Creating design specifications and requirements definition
  • Developing test protocols/procedures, collecting and analyzing data, and creating detailed reports
  • Be detail oriented with strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • The use of Software Tools (i.e., MiniTab) for statistical analysis
  • Matlab and 3D CAD software (Solidworks)
  • Desired SysML modeling tools such as MagicDraw

Travel Percentage: Up to 25%
