What you will do:

  • The Software Engineer will oversee developing all key visual aspects of a product or products and oversees all usability testing needs.
  • In the initial phases of a product, he/she will build out a full visual design language (i.e. what will platform, applications, and products/services look like).
  • They will develop designs that align with the design language, meet accessibility requirements, and fulfill functional requirements.
  • They will coordinate with Digital Product Management to define, refine and execute the design vision for their products.
  • They will also provide feedback to developers to support the development of the platforms and adjust design as needed.
  • They will collaborate with product specialists to improve and refine product architecture when conflicts arise or there is a demand for new features. T
  • The software architect is expected assist in developing future state strategies and roadmap and suggest the adoption of new technologies to improve Stryker’s product designs.
  • The Software Engineer will be in charge of developing all key visual aspects of a product or products and oversees all usability testing needs.   • The software architect is expected assist in developing future state strategies and roadmap and suggest the adoption of new technologies to improve Stryker’s product designs.
  • Develop a full design language for platform delivery team, translate business architectures into integrated technical solution architectures, and translate functional requirements and wireframes into a visual design that fits with the full design system
  • Execute on all design deliverables ensuring on-time delivery of all deliverables, including patterns, wireframes, research, and comps; communicates with the product management team when items are at risk
  • Provide feedback to developers of digital products to aid in setting the direction for platform development strategies, technologies, techniques, tools and guidelines
  • Thoroughly document solution architecture using standard architecture models and deliverables. Present and defend architectural, design and technical choices
  • Keep current with technology development within the industry and suggest the adoption of new technologies
  • Collaborate with Digital Product Management to define, refine and execute the design vision for the portfolio
  • Partner with product specialists on design deliverables in an iterative and collaborative process to identify and collect detailed technical requirements
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and create implementable solutions. Apply advanced thinking to solve challenging regulatory compliance requirements

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or related field
  • 7 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in and commitment to agile software delivery principles and practices
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills enough to solve complex design problems, troubleshoot issues, and specify critical controls to measure project and program success
  • Knowledgeable in application security trends, products and tooling
  • Software architecture and design experience
  • Experience working with large scale distributed software systems (i.e. “the cloud”)
  • Experience with common application security issues and remediation
