National Sales Manager

The Job's Mission

Responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies  for the Joint Replacement business.  Plans, directs, and coordinates all selling activities in Sweden for the JR sales team, in accordance with budgeted objectives in order to obtain maximum profitability and volume in relation to pre-set standards.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

  • Develops plans to maximize sales opportunities in Sweden.
  • Develops and recommends strategic plans to achieve greater market share/penetration.
  • Prepares monthly highlights and necessary reports to keep Leadership adequately informed of progress.
  • Drive and implement tender strategy  in Sweden
  • Develop account-by-account strategies with the Sales Reps to ensure highest level of service support to customers and increase revenue. Systematic follow-up of account plans
  • Strong business acumen
  • Lead the negotiation of sales transaction with divisional and regional agreements/tenders.
  • Manage a national OpEx budget and capex spending (responsibility of active capex forecasting)
  • Constructs new sales opportunities in order to facilitate company growth.
  • Works with country marketing organisation to inform the team of new information pertaining to the market and products.
  • Regarded in the market place (internal and external) as a commercial expert.  Drives market size through discussions with C-suite/private groups/leadership organisations.
  • Understands and acts on the wider economic environment, can access and influence non-clinical stakeholders at all levels.
  • As part of management team, leads the team to high performance through elite coaching, inclusive strategy and best in class practices at all times.  Promotes team spirit around commercial excellence.
  • Create an environment wich encourage continuous feedback and improvment.
  • Builds a strong action plan for 3 years with a SWOT analysis, SMART objectives and a detailed analysis of the Regions
  • Defines adapted actions to the priority targets to cascade the BU strategy .
  • Key actor on his/her P&L management
  • Ensure the definition of innovative solutions tailored to customer needs to achieve the objectives
  • Adheres regularly to all policies and procedures as stipulated by EU requirements
  • Assess the competitive threats to Stryker and market changes within Sweden and implement pro-active tactics in line with the strategic plan
  • Continually assess all aspects of healthcare developments in Sweden and national funding (reimbursement) process, determine areas of influence for Stryker and take active steps to assist clinics to secure funding and expand the market
  • Strategically plan symposia and conferences in line with budget planning
  • Selection of talent, professional development of team, performance management, talent review, and engagement of staff

Education & Experience

  • University degree, or equivalent, higher level of education in the Medical and/or Economy Business Administration sectors (BA, MBA, Engineer, Nurse, etc.) is desired
  • Minimum eight years of experience within a multinational company in the medical/pharmaceutical field.
  • Thorough knowledge of sales/distribution processes and applied selling/commercial skills
  • Successful track record in sales
  • Preferably, already well familiar with the orthopaedic industry and with the key decision makers
  • Experience of Product launches, re-orientation and other change management experience
  • Multi-Function People Management experience or extensive cross organisational project lead experience      Competencies

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet and Intranet, and Database (i.e., JD Edwards One World, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning system).

Work From Home: Field-based

Travel Percentage: 70%
