The Job's Mission

The Innovative Solution Marketing Director, Trauma and Extremities, will have ownership of existing and future value based and added programs and will report directly to the VP+GM Trauma and Extremities, Europe. The successful candidate will have responsibility for formulating and executing an effective value based and value added marketing plan to drive above market growth of market share and operating income.   This will include budget responsibility and will require accurate  financial planning. Collaboration with the various stake holders within the matrix organization will be essential for success.

Play a key role in the development of cross functional business strategies. All the time driving performance excellence in Sales/Marketing systems and processes for Stryker’s T&E value based and value added programs.

  • Lead together with the Marketing Brand Director the strategic sales/marketing planning process for T&E, defining its overall strategy and setting key business performance objectives and agree on commitments with country leads in a coordinated manner.
  • Develop and recommend short and medium term business plans for the Division and associated tactical activities to ensure sales, operating profit and business plans are achieved all the while making sure that a sustainable process is in place to support them.
  • Collaborate with the  Marketing Brand Director to define value proposition for the existing and future product portfolio.
  • Assess M&A opportunity and be involved in the pre- and post M&A activities.

Provide leadership, direction & coaching to your team of Digital Marketing Managers, Training&Education Managers, Value Added Program Managers and Health Care Economics ensuring the strong development and engagement of the team.

Define Business Unit Value Based and Value Added Sales Targets :

  • Identify and assess innovation programs, define implementations plans and ROI
  • Support Cross Divisional opportunities and define ROI

Manage Product Launches:

  • Work closely with the US and the Marketing Brand Director to implement key Value Added Program introductions in Europe.
  • Partner with the country Business Solution Managers to execute plans.
  • Establish an effective product launch process, provide direction and leadership to the local marketing organizations as they roll out the launch locally.
  • Manage value based and value added portfolio and lifecycle across Europe

Partner with key stake holders especially with the Governmental Affairs team and with the local Business Solution Managers to help develop appropriate business and market intelligence strategies

Establish strong collaborative relationships with US Marketing/Sales teams; win buy-in to both divisional value based and value added strategies from European organization and to European strategies from the US global divisions. Consult with IT department for solution implementation.

Support collaboration across Division for any innovative solutions which are not T&E specific but could generate higher Stryker value.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree and an MBA/Business Masters is desirable
  • Proven track record in International marketing and/or sales management/leadership in a multinational medical device company. A combination of marketing and P&L experience is ideal.
  • Proven experience from implementing initiatives resulting in significant market share growth and delivery on financial commitments.
  • Experience in creating and launch value added and value based programs
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing programs to evaluate market characteristics and trends, and position and differentiate value added and value based in new and existing markets
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills; plus the ability to relate well to colleagues & surgeons from varied divisions, markets & cultures.
