What You Will Do

As a R&D Electrical Design Engineer, you will perform a wide variety of technical work in planning and design of embedded hardware, electronic circuits, and PCB’s for instrumentation that is used by Orthopedic Surgeons to allow them to plan and perform their procedures.  This role will be a key contributor to the electrical hardware development process of embedded medical devices that supports our computer assisted and robotic product lines. 

Technical Responsibilities

  • You will design and develop electrical components for medical devices.
  • You will apply circuit and electrical system test methods.
  • You will perform prototyping and bench testing.
  • You will perform problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
  • You will conduct research and studies to support product design.

  • You will learn procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in EE or related discipline.

What you will need (preferred qualifications)

  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing methods.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of the electrical design process.
  • Knowledge of design and concept generation CAD, CAE, or simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of system components and associated requirements.
  • Understanding of the basic theory and methods of PCB design and ability toapply them under supervision while demonstrating knowledge of PCB Schematic & Layout process and tools (e.g. PSpice, LTspice, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, Altium, etc.).
  • Familiarity with electronic hardware lab tools for development of design (e.g. Oscilloscope, Electronic Loads, Function Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Environmental Chambers).
