What you will do-

The role will enable business by insuring that Sourcing Strategies are implemented and executed across the network. It encompasses cost optimization, continuity of supply and quality requirements, through partnerships with best in class suppliers.

Primary roles/responsibilities:

  • Sets the strategic direction for key supplier partners, aligned to Stryker’s mission, global sourcing strategies and customer / stakeholder needs.
  • This role serves as the leader / escalation path for supplier management issues within the Stryker network.
  • Supplier development in the areas of Quality, Service & Cost to ensure Stryker’s day to day and long term needs are met.
  • Will be responsible for priority global sourcing projects as required.
  • The person in this position will be comfortable communicating across all levels of management including executive leadership level
  • Global coordination of the supplier relationship across the Stryker network with organized communication and collaboration internally and externally.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders (Sourcing, Supplier Quality, AO, Site Operations, R&D, etc.) to drive prioritization, being empowered to make the supplier relationship as effective and efficient as possible.
  • Be the key escalation point and dispute resolution contact for all commercial topics, including resolving commercial implications related to Product Field Actions, quality issues, dispute resolutions, etc.
  • Oversight of all RFQ’s across the Stryker network, ultimately driving best in class cost models and pricing. Ensures no miscommunication / improper reliance or assumptions made relating to supplier’s capacity and capabilities.
  • Develop close working relationship with Global Categories and Divisional Sourcing Lead teams to ensure full alignment in terms of positioning the Supplier within the sourcing strategies and Stryker’s new product pipeline.
  • Ownership and responsibility for creating the supplier cost reduction plan and road map, delivering committed cost reduction and PPV targets.
  • Leads the supplier business review process, manages categorization status and owns creation and implementation of MSA contract.
  • Implement metrics, process and communication forums to ensure continual supplier development and improvement in areas of Service, Cost and TTM.
  • Ensure seamless transition into manufacturing for all new products.
  • SME of the supplier relating to processes, capacity, competencies, financial status, risk areas, development areas, etc.
  • Develop and implement a portfolio focused vision / strategy to supplier portfolio management to ensure the areas of product quality, cost optimization, service performance and risk mitigation are developed to grow the business..
  • Is the voice within Stryker representing the supplier, ensuring a predictable, balanced partnership is developed.

What you need-

Qualifications & Experience:      

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical -or- business discipline required (Master’s degree in a business -or- engineering discipline strongly preferred)
  •  Minimum of 8 years of / Sourcing / Procurement Supply chain experience preferably in medical devices or other highly regulated environment
  • Ability to see the big picture, distill strategic objectives into a concrete plan for execution, influence others to build consensus behind shared goals, challenge the status quo, initiate tough conversations, and promote a culture of innovation.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and implementing commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement strategy and market drivers.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, collaborative team work, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
  • Build trusting relationships with Executive VP level at Stryker and CEO level at our supply base.
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting to and influencing executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex information and interconnected issues to clearly articulate the findings, obstacles, and solution.
  • Highly proficient in stakeholder management and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to challenge processes and use knowledge or trends to identify new solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate complex interpersonal and political issues.
