What You Will Do

  • Design and development of embedded software code.
  • Generate software requirements specifications.
  • Development of software verification and validation tests.
  • Debug software and hardware/schematics at high level using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and simulators.
  • C/C++, Object Oriented Coding.
  • Collaboration with electrical engineers to define microprocessor and interface requirements.
  • Plan, design, develop and test software systems and applications for software enhancements and new products.
  • Write software that will interact with and control complex electro-­mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate product designs at a subsystem level and ensure appropriate performance based upon customer and standard requirements.  Typical analysis includes sound coding structures and reviews.
  • May assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
  • Will submit periodic reports on assigned topics to supervisor.
  • May interact with customers early in the research process to gather customer needs and during the development process.


What You Need



  • B.S. in Software Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Required - Proficient in communication protocols such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Required - Proficient in C and/or C++
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated software problem solving skills.
  • Experience with RTOS
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements to design
  • Hands on experience with debugging tools such as debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and multi-meters.
