Main objective / purpose of the role:

Assist the Medical Education and Marketing Services Teams to design and implement a focused and cohesive educational program by running effective events and congresses supported with appropriate Professional Affairs process and documentation to assist in delivering exceptional results.

Critical success factors / key deliverables:


  • Understand and implement the country/franchise based Annual Marketing Plans as they relate to Medical Education needs.  Support markets to deliver exceptional results against these AMP’s, connecting these to achieve economies of scale in events management where possible. 
  • Closely liaise/collaborate with the Regional and Local Marketing Teams to provide and share best in class educational events for external and internal customers.
  • Help ensure Brand/Quality consistency and efficiency at all events/congresses where appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support services and prepare key marketing and events/educational materials for external and internal customers.
  • Ensure material used by the team leverages the organization’s strengths, optimizes communication efficiency and maximizes messaging impact.
  • Monitor internal, competitive and relevant industries to benchmark for continual improvement with relevant action plans.

Medical Education Events

  • Collaborate with the medical education team to determine event objective, agenda, and to oversee a smooth organization of Medical Education events.
  • Lead the HK based programs and partner in a support role for the SG and Regional based activities including as a backfill during periods of absence for the SG based counterpart.
  • Prepare event budgets, ensure spend within budget and coordinate timely payment to vendors and intercompany cross charges with finance.  Debrief on finance summary following events/courses.
  • To proactively manage agreed business development projects assigned including coordination of regional Fellowship Programs and Surgical Observations at Regional Centers of Excellence.

Professional Affairs

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to support faculty development.
  • Maintain HCP/MCI contracts, payments and tracking in partnership with finance/legal/compliance.
  • Ensure courses are supported with appropriate „on label“ marketing materials such as brochures, surgical technique, product demos, training, etc. 
  • Ensure website information and marketing documents are updated according to the regulations of each country and align with global policies.

Knowledge / Skills / Attributes:

Academic qualifications / degree & relevant prior experience:

  • Degree holder in business, hospitality, science or marketing.
  • And/or at least 3 years’ relevant events management experience gained from multi-national companies preferably in the medical industry.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin/Cantonese and preferably familiar with Japanese culture and language.
