We are currently seeking a Manager, Applied Biomechanics located in Mahwah, New Jersey.

What you will do:
- Manage research and strategy associated with kinematics, cadaveric analysis, virtual analysis and tribology.
- Develop test protocols & oversee simulator testing.
- Specify and provide product verification and validation guidance for development projects through Design Control team participation.
- Demonstrate continuous creativity in kinematic and tribology research.
- Generate technical memos and reports, including detail that is appropriate to the audience; develop reports and memos necessary to support a regulatory submission.
- Participate in the development and management of department expenses within budget.
- Manage resource planning tools, such as timelines; allocate resources in support of business plans.
- Interact with the consultant / designer surgeon group in order to define and validate design requirements.
- Manage 3rd party vendors, including contract labs.
- Interface with the other functional departments to build and manage multifunctional teams that execute the New Technology Development Process.
- Participate -- with senior management -- in the identification of strategic opportunities and product line strategies.
- Manage the team's employee development and succession planning activities; set performance objectives, provide coaching/guidance and provide performance evaluation.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Biomedical or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- 8 + years of experience in the medical device or Regulated industry
- 2+ years in a research environment, including direct experience with mechanical or material testing and cadaveric testing
- Applied knowledge of mechanical test equipment and biomechanics principles
- Prefer FEA skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated expertise in design controls within a regulated industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage expenses within budget
- Prefer prior experience managing direct reports, including recruiting, developing, coaching, team building and discipline/termination
