This newly created role is responsible for developing & implementing Stryker's European Intercompany Transportation Center of Excellence, assuming budget responsibility and creating a centralized execution function.  This role will maximize the service, quality and cost efficiency of transportation for intercompany shipments as well as creating leverage across all shipping sites in Europe. Responsible for preparing a regional transportation strategy aligned with the global transportation strategy, provide ongoing support, and to drive business improvements.  This role participates in cross-functional teams and will require strong relationships internally and externally.

  • Forecast and manage the budget for the Intercompany shipments
  • Scope of budget oversight
  • Intercompany shipments of European manufactured products to LRDs
  • Scope of management oversight
    • Inbound raw materials to Europe factories
    • Outbound finished goods to Europe customers
  • Leverage scope and scale of Pan European transportation
  • Provide input, strategy, tools and efficiency opportunities to the local sites they support
  • Escalation channel in the event unresolved issues occur locally
  • Actively manage the performance of carrier partners
  • Negotiate favorable rate and service level agreements
  • Channel the needs of local internal and external customers in all designs and initiatives
  • Hold regular business reviews with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Inventory COE to make effective supply chain decisions
  • Oversee the performance of the 4PL executing transportation operations for Intercompan
  • Influence transportation and distribution leaders globally
  • Maintain close working relationships with Global Transportation Team, carrier partners, freight payment providers, data providers, internal commercial & supplier partners, Enterprise Planning team

  • Collaborate with Inventory Center of Excellence to develop Intercompany Transportation strategy

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics or relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of large, global, multi-divisional transportation networks or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Experience in operating a global, multi-divisional Supply Chain Center of Excellence with budget responsibility.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills required, particularly Excel.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to see problems and recommend or take appropriate actions to solve them, ability to work in detail and be result oriented.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify potential issues and make solution recommendations.
  • Medical device background preferred.
  • Proficiency in English written and orally.
