The Job's Mission

The purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate accounting simplification and innovation initiatives, develop and enhance technical accounting capabilities, actively drive initiatives to improve accounting quality within the EFSS and ensuring seemless extensions of scope driven through organic growth or M&A activities.

This role reports into the Senior Manager Accounting Quality & Integration and requires a strong partnership with functions within the EFSS such as Internal Control, P2P, Process Excellence, R2R as well as with various stakeholders within the business, e.g. local and corporate functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following, note that responsibilities may be added or removed as deemed necessary.

Key Activities & Accountabilities  

Accounting Simplification/ Innovation

  • Activley supports the creation of a roadmap for technology adoption to simplify and standardize accounting across the EFSS
  • Hands-on analasys and execution of initiatives that lead to rationalize volume of transactions and accounts across the various Shared Service functions
  • Participates in identifying and coordinating initiatives to reduce complexity and inconsistency in accounting procedures
  • Coordinates the consolidation of accounting processes within the EFSS

Technical Accounting

  • Ensures strong collaboration and alignment with Corporate functions and stakeholders
  • Assists in the research of complex technical accounting issues encountered
  • Assists with the implementation of new accounting standards and translate into EFSSC processes
  • Effectively understands and summarises technical accounting processes into documentation and training materials
  • Able to communicate and train staff on technical accounting processes at all operational and managerial levels


  • Supports the design and implementation of a EFSS Quality management system
  • Develops work-program that can be used to perform quality assessments on key accounting processes performed e.g. account reconciliations, accruals, payroll/ compensation, pension
  • Plans, organizes and conducts quality reviews
  • Defines support model that ensures adherence to quality standards as defined in Quality management system

Integration & Migration of Work to the EFSSC

  • Works with the Sr. Manager Accounting Quality & Integration to deliver impact assessment for core financial processes (purchase to pay, record to report etc.) and deliver integration plan based on EFSSC standards
  • Drives the Change Control process for work integration into the EFSSC
  • Plays an active role in the deployment of project management tools and techniques (such as project planning, resource, dependency and issue management, and status reporting)
  • Supports the development of integration prerequisites e.g. Integration Playbook, RACI
  • Ensures adherence to standardized Corporate Finacne policies, processes and documentation standards
  • Collaborates across the organization to ensure timely and accurte execution of pre-work, testing and execution
  • Ensures post-merger support to operational teams

Leadership and culture

  • Drives a quality mindset within the shared service centre
  • Develops strong interpersonal skills to succesfuly execute quality initiatives, M&A integraions across the various EFSS teams and stakeholders
  • Plays an active role in improving processes and system flows and assist in generating ideas for process improvements


  • Work on ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested


  • Bachelor or HBO Degree in Finance /Business related subjects
  • Accounting certifications such as CPA, CMA preferred
  • Fluent spoken and written English. Any other European language is a plus
  • ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, MFG pro, BPCS, PRMS) knowledge is a big plus
  • Strong Powerpoint, Visio and Word skills


  • Minimum of 5-8 years of professional finance work experience, e.g. in accountancy of finance operations
  • The candidate should have a good knowledge of at least 2 major ERP systems (Oracle SAP) and be able to demonstrate ability to quickly learn and master new systems
  • Experience with transition of work from and to shared service centres would be preferable


  • Strong communication (verbal and written), attention to detail and ability to communicate complicated issues effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to perform consistently under varying business pressure as well as ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work across levels within the organization
  • Team player, ability to foster strong relationships with others
  • Ability to structure and prioritize in ambiguity
  • Self-sufficiency in managing work to meet goals and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of information systems and technology
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to organize, develop and simplify processes
  • USGAAP reporting experience or equivalent is a strong want
