The Job's Mission

The Warehouse Operative will be located in our Main Warehouse area which is part of a wider warehouse team to assist in supporting and help maintain the Company’s distribution activities, whilst meeting customer service and quality. They will take hour by hour responsibility for ensuring our orders are dispatched to customers on time every time. The job will be a permanent late shift (12pm – 8pm) although depending on volumes there may sometimes be the requirement to stay and get the job done so the candidate will have to have a sense of responsibility and commitment to going the extra mile. There will be no direct reports but a responsibility to get the job done will be crucial.
Key Activities & Accountabilities
  • Take responsibility and support the Team Leader in achieving departmental and divisional KPIs and objectives
  • Manage effective communications with the salesforce and internal customers to deliver operational targets, issues, briefings are effectively delivered
  • Sorting and processing of pick tickets
  • Preparing trolleys for Wave picking of tickets
  • Picking of items checking the validity of the product and condition
  • Reporting of any discrepancies or issues to be hi-lighted to our seniors or the Team Leader
  • Packing of the picked orders with appropriate protective packaging
  • Printing of paperwork and shipping labels
  • Selecting the correct transport service such as same day, express and far reaching areas
  • Preparing any special paperwork such as export paperwok to fulfill the companies Trade Compliance regulations
  • Cycle counting of all stock on a yearly plan and rotation
  • Ensure all stock is picked and packed on time and with 100% accuracy
  • End of day functions such as courier manifests and order checks
  • Ensure all quality and safety standards are adhered to and championed as necessary
  • To operate in a safe working manner and be responsible for H+S within designated areas, and ensure all prescribed PPE is used correctly by each team member
  • Liaison with couriers, other departments and internal customers
  • Be an expert in the departmental processes
  • Take responsibility for identifying areas of improving and assisting in the implementation of actions relating to these.
  • Suggest and support projects within the team and cross-functional, to further improve the department, resulting in increasing customer satisfaction, increasing efficiency, lower costs and optimized inventory levels
  • Take responsibility for both your own engagement and also assist in driving engagement in the department. This will include taking an active part in Q12 meetings and the Q12 impact plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Functions while driving leverage opportunities across the areas.

Job Requirements

Education
  • GCSE or higher
Experience
  • Ideally experience of working in a team, warehouse environment in a similar environment
Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner and work both independently and as part of a team on assignments. Must be IT literate and efficient in an administrative environment. They must have the ability to work on their own initiative, prioritizing and organising workload.
