What you will do

As an R&D technician, you will get an opportunity to work within a fast-paced new product development environment on an array of technical challenges for our next generation products.  As part of this team, you will interface with cross functional team members both involving product testing as well as product & process development.  You would be able to share inputs into all phases of product development as well as have opportunities to see our product in action via customer visits and workshops.

Some key responsibilities include:

•Learn to set up and work with equipment that brings new capabilities of the organization.
•Assist in complying with requirements for equipment certifications and maintenance.
•Train and assist with product builds for both new concepts and for in process designs
•Build and develop research prototypes used to evaluate new product concepts
•Provide input to the vision, definition and specification of future designs
•Maintain testing integrity, compliance, traceability, documentation for new product designs and characterization.
•Provide input into manufacturability and process improvements in collaboration with project engineers.
•Follow Product Design Controls procedures

What you need

  • Two-year Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of technical work experience (R&D medical device development experience preferred)
  • Able to provide preliminary equipment and prototype drawings and specifications
  • Bench fixturing/tooling design experience
  • Experience working with external vendors
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
