Job Description

Provide maintenance and repair services on surgical instruments and equipment.
Final Location of position is TBD. Location will be based on needs of the business.

Provide on location surgical instrument repair services to:
Assigned customer
Potential new customer on a trial basis
Existing customers when existing technician is unavailable example: vacation, illness
Existing customers requiring addition capacity
New customers during initiation of service
Oversee and manage the service requirements for all assigned customers:
Organizing daily priorities
Partner with OR and CPD to create service schedules based on specific needs and timing requirements ensuring the needs of both departments are met.
Manage daily schedules between separate independent operating locations within the same overall facility while fulfilling all service expectations.
Troubleshoot urgent instrumentation issues by interacting with operating room personnel including surgeons and circulating nurses.
Conduct investigation to determine root cause of instrumentation issues and consult with OR and CPD Directors and provide suggestions for process improvements
Responsible for communicating with Sales representatives on customer interactions, needs and any product discussion held with the customer.
Expected to stay current with Stryker product lines in order to identify opportunities with customer to assist Sales Representative with customer needs.
Responsible for inspecting all instrumentation by determining root cause of all manufacturing instrumentation
Responsible for executing and managing the repair process by checking for proper functionality
After inspecting devices, determine the appropriate service solution and then develop and follow the repair process based on experience and training.
Responsible for choosing appropriate service support for outside repair service based on instrument type and the type of malfunction
Present findings of analysis and root cause analysis and determine appropriate solution options to department heads
Provide training sessions to CPD personnel on inspection and handling of instrumentation
Manage and execute the outsourcing of instruments and equipment repairs
Capture all repair activities on location or outsourced through the use of the company provided software program
Interact with appropriate customer personnel to assure open lines of communication
Track the progress of all outsourced items and update data base and customer as needed
Maintain company standards for quality and services levels
Extensive travel may be required
May be responsible to supervise a repair specialist(s)
May be required to assist in training of new repair specialists

Job Requirements

Associates degree from a college or university and/or related experience in reprocessing, use and/or repair of surgical instruments or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer skills including Microsoft office and Database software
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals & incoming documentation.
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and documentation.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and peers.
