Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Analyst II obtains materials, components, and/or equipment at the lowest cost consistent with quality and urgency of need and coordinates the activities with manufacturing unit to maintain inventory at planned levels. This role is also responsible for developing and maintaining necessary records and files for efficient operation and for obtaining certifications of delivery and conducts checks against orders.

The role consists of 80% strategic projects and 20% tactical responsibilities.

Specific responsibilities of the Supply Chain Analyst II include, but are not limited to the following:

Systems Knowledge

  • Issue suggested purchase orders based upon MRP system suggestions
  • Request changes to purchase order dates from suppliers based upon MRP system suggestions
  • Update MRP system to ensure clear communication of expected component stocking
  • Update MRP system to ensure stocking priority of components according to business rules
  • Investigate component requirements to support FG assembly build and challenge where appropriate
  • Issue purchase orders to support engineering changes
  • Maintain item master detail in accordance with established business rules

Customer Management

  • Update the business on the status and direction of your business on a weekly basis
  • Update internal customers on key supply chain issues and drive them to resolution
  • Coordinate engineering changes between internal customers and suppliers

Supplier Management

  • Update purchase orders based on supplier commitments
  • Manage supplier inventory levels at Stryker to maintain continuity of supply and 98% component availability level
  • Challenge all price increase requests from suppliers and escalate if unsuccessful
  • Serve as single point of contact for suppliers for SCR tracking and prioritization
  • Sustain or improve OTD and SS% performance through regular performance reviews with suppliers
  • Hold suppliers accountable to mutually agreed upon supplier held safety stock levels
  • Identify supplier capacity constraints

Data Analytics

  • Use data analytics to expose and address the root cause of any/all component issues
  • Use data analytics to support the capacity analysis for strategic suppliers
  • Understand and action next steps root cause solution upon discovery of discrepancy or problem exposed

Process Development

  • Refine current processes to better accommodate current business

Qualifications and Work Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience are required (supply chain & purchasing).  Professional experience as a Buyer or Materials Planner in a manufacturing/production facility is highly preferred. 

Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experiences:

  • Experience in plastics sourcing/purchasing is highly preferred
  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry experience is highly preferred (e.g.: aerospace, automotive)
  • Strong analytical skills     
  • Demonstrated efficient work methods and an ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment; project management experience desired
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various business functions                         
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems is required
  • Experience with the following are preferred:
    • Kanban
    • Purchasing systems/procedures
    • Supplier management
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
