Job Description

What you will do-

  • Responsible for leading Supplier Controls activities and process improvement initiatives within the Stryker site. The position holder will work closely with local, divisional and corporate stakeholders in the development of Supplier Controls systems, tools, policies and procedures ensuring that they are fully understood and implemented in the respective Stryker site.
  • Responsible for the development, revision, maintenance and inactivation of the local Stryker Site procedures ensuring the alignment with the Corporate Guidelines for Purchasing Controls and Supplier Management.                                                                                                  
  • Implement strategy for supplier controls, procurement and strategic sourcing processes and procedures in coordination with Site / Campus Supplier Quality teams and Company-wide Supplier Controls team.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
  • Develop and manage monitoring reports designed for the selection, evaluation, and removal of suppliers from the ASL in order to assure the quality and reliability of the products they supply.                                                                            
  • Provide input and evaluation of potential acquisition targets regarding Purchasing Controls and supplier assessment gap analysis and provide planning for supplier base integration.                                                                                                                             
  •  Partner with Supplier Quality, Strategic Sourcing, and Divisional leads across sites and campus to lead and implement consistent global supplier management, procurement and Strategic Sourcing processes and procedures.                                                                                                                                               
  • Support company wide initiatives to develop and implement systems to ensure our suppliers follow ethical and environmentally sustainable practices to ensure compliance with Regulatory and Company-Wide Guidelines/Procedures.                                                                                                            
  • Lead and/or support development and implementation of processes to build a best in class Supplier controls organization.
  • Lead site/campus Annual Supplier Risk Assessment Review.                                                                                               
  • Support company wide initiatives to develop and implement data and support systems to provide visibility into Stryker’s global supply chain to enable global decision making and performance monitoring.
  • Work with site and divisional counterparts to complete Corporate Purchasing Controls CAPAs (containment actions, root cause, corrective/preventive action, etc.)
  • Development of communication tools to internal customers (site/campus/Group level)                                    
  • Assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base particularly as it relates to BD activities.                                                                                                                      
  • Campus-wide or Group project management: from initial conception to completion and multiple mid to large size participation.                                                                                                                                                                                             
  • Provide input for Management Review and monthly metrics reporting.
  • Participate in hiring decisions.                                                                                                                                                               
  • Support Third Party inspection  (FDA, Notified Body etc.)and Stryker Corporate audits of the Quality System.
  • Train others in Quality Assurance/FDA-QSR related topics.
  • May participate Supplier Audits                                                                                                                                        
  • Consolidation of data/metrics at the site/campus or Group level.                                                                                                  

What you need-

  • Bachelor's Degree plus  8+ years of related experience  -or- Master's degree plus 6+ years of related experience (Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field)
  • In- depth knowledge of supplier quality agreements (QAA) and Supplier Change Control Agreements (CCA)
  • Experience integrating best practices to achieve quality/continuous improvements                                                          
  • Experience developing and implementing quality management systems, particularly with respect to purchasing/supplier controls and supplier quality assessment/supplier development activities in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace).
  • Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO3485 and ISO9001 preferred 
  • Experience with supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems
  • Financial and strategic analysis and negotiation skills required                                                                                                                                                                                      
  • Lead auditor certification preferred
  • Project Management certification-preferred                                                  
  • Supply Chain and/or Medical Device quality certifications or training is desired
  • General understanding of basic engineering and applied statistical analysis desired
  • Commercial contract knowledge preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, top management and potentially suppliers

  • Sound judgment with the ability to make and communicate timely and sound decisions
