Job Description

The Supervisor, Credit and Collections will:  

  • Supervise & ensures orders are reviewed and released in a timely manner, while keeping team on pace for targeted cash and bad debt collection goals.
  • Act as a liaison between customers or sales representatives regarding particular balance status issues or related complications.
  • Monitor daily AR Balance, and Days Sales Outstanding.
  • Forecast staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly; trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines employees being supervised; resolves personnel issues.
  • Perform required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
  • Assist with month end financial close, financial reporting, reconciliation process, and corresponding journal entries.
  • Assist Financial Compliance with development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are Sarbanes-Oxley Compliant and followed by employees.
  • Submit periodic reports on the status of receivables goal attainment, aging receivables, unapplied credits and other related reports.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
  • Perform daily activities of Credit and Collections Coordinators as necessary:  including preparing manual invoices, reconcile customer accounts, review Purchase Orders, release orders for shipment, assist in collections.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Proficient on Microsoft applications especially Excel.  Familiarity with MS Access.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Education/Training Required:

  • 2-4 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
  • B.A. or B.S. in business or related curriculum.
