Job Description

Stryker’s Interaction Design internship offers qualified candidates the opportunity to work on the research and design of embedded and mobile user interfaces and systems for medical devices used in a variety of procedures within the hospital operating room. This position will collaborate with R&D and Marketing professionals while being mentored by experienced designers on user centered research methodologies, technical design skills and design strategy.

  • Work across a variety of research and development phases directly with designers, engineers and PM’s
  • Support the product development team in user centered techniques such as contextual enquiry, user personas, stakeholder and journey mapping, heuristic evaluations, empathy maps and multi-variant testing
  • Involved in the planning and execution of usability studies for digital products including but not limited to virtual and in-person usability tests and surveys.
  • Carry out synthesis and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to define insights that lead to problem identification and design inputs
  • Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes and other visualization tools to explore solutions
  • Create and present concepts that marry usability best practices and visual brand
  • Excellent visual and verbal presentation skills with an ability to articulate research insights and concepts to the project team

What You Need

•Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
•Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
• Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
•Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
•Ability to exercise independent judgment
•Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
•Proven leadership and business acumen skills
•Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Work From Home: Regularly scheduled days

Travel Percentage: 10%
