Description and Opportunity

As an HR intern at Stryker, you will work on special projects in the following areas:

HR Generalist/Talent Management/Learning & Development
Responsibilities could include –

Collaborating on the development and implementation of programs and solutions to improve performance and processes such as:

  • Lead site communication efforts, partnering with line managers
  • Help assist with M&A activities: site closure / transfer integration activities.
  • Assist with candidate selection processes, including onboarding.
  • Learn HR practices through partnering with line managers on dealing with employee issues
  • Provide manager coaching and follow-up support for the annual Q12 engagement survey.
  • Design, develop and deliver a leadership course for line leads in manufacturing.
  • Assist in any west region HR projects for sites in California, Washington, Utah and Texas as needed.
  • Assess compensation within local market

Other skill building areas:

•Working with hiring managers and our COEs to identify candidates, interview and ultimately select diverse talent to the Stryker team.

•University Relations – Assisting with leading local summer intern program engagement events.

Majors Targeted: Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, psychology, or business - must be a related field

Job Requirements
What You Need

• Currently working on completion of Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan to be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer.

• Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring.
• Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
