Reporting to Area Director, Shoulder Sales Development, this position is a specialized regional support role designed to strengthen and bolster unique product knowledge and foster a consistent approach to selling shoulder in the field through on-site support and education to Branches/Agents.  This role will provide field leadership and participate in closing key customers on the benefits of using Stryker Shoulder products and provide Sales Representatives and Managers with product knowledge and sales techniques to confidently represent specialized Shoulder products in their territory. The Strategic Sales Manager will act as a subject matter expert in the shoulder portfolio.

Work with Branches/Agents within region to develop and implement appropriate selling strategy and structure for shoulder
Work in conjunction with Area Field Marketing Managers to drive education strategy 
Act as Business Partner and Subject Matter Expert on portfolio of Stryker shoulder products
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements 

Develop new business, grow existing business, and coordinate solutions while troubleshooting customer problems 
Generate and maximize the awareness of our products/services by providing education and information to potential and existing customers 

Work with training managers to develop sales training curriculum for Shoulder products 
Support the development and execution of the sales plan as well as grow the utilization of shoulder products by increasing volume with current and potential surgeons 
Actively sell the clinical benefits of the products, and build strong, positive relationships with key surgeons and OR staff at targeted accounts 
Identify key accounts and develop strategic account plans to deliver differentiating messages and value for our products and services 

Attend trade shows, surgeon dinners, skill courses, and educational meetings to provide support to local & regional managers & front line reps 
Partner with Sales Rep & Sales Leadership on CEP visits and present product Portfolio 
Work with product managers to identify areas of improvement and innovation for Shoulder products 

Occasional case coverage as required to support shoulder business

*Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years successful medical device sales and/or marketing experience 
  • BA required business; pre-med or other relevant field of study 
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant products, disease states, human anatomy and biomechanics
  • Demonstrated experience with product responsibility and interfacing with surgeons 
  • Demonstrated ability to use influence to achieve organizational goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles and processes and highly adept at managing critical internal and external customer relationships  
  • Demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation  
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and critical thinking skills Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Excel & Word)
