Stryker’s Staff User Experience Designer collaborates within a product development team, applying research methodologies with World-class healthcare professionals, for the development of medical devices and systems (physical and digital) for our Instruments Division. With a focus on Interventional Spine solutions, Human Centered Design techniques are crucial skills required to determine appropriate user experience, ergonomics, function, aesthetics, quality and safety.

The Staff User Experience Designer plays a central role in planning and leading user observation research in hospital operating rooms and cadaver labs, synthesis of findings, prioritization and communication of user insights and working with Marketing and Design Engineers to create design inputs for product concepts. They are involved in the process from concept to implementation, through the use of various qualitative research methodologies, merging an understanding of user and business needs to drive high quality user experiences. Our strongest candidates will demonstrate strong user centered design skills and emerging leadership qualities.

What you need-

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree (Industrial Design, Product Design,  degree strongly preferred)
  • 4-6+ years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Device industry experience
  • Human Factors design experience
  • User interface design experience
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe CS, ProE, Solidworks, etc.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 30%
