Position summary:

This position is primarily responsible for the development of trouble-shooting and testing utilities for the Airo Mobile CT. You will be an integral support provider to the Sustaining Engineering Team. You are required to be a systems level SME who can develop a deep understanding of the Airo system software and hardware. You shall be proficient in Object Oriented software design principles and have had experience developing smart tools for system diagnosis and testing.

The Staff Systems Engineer will help ensure that software and hardware project documentation is compliant with established Design Controls procedures. This role will support sustaining engineering, new product development and customer escalations (internal & external) as necessary.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Develops and drives verification and validation testing, hardware and software related projects in support of sustaining engineering and new product development
  • Supports escalation needs for Operations and/or Field Service
  • Creates and conduct software/firmware compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and reports problems with program function, output, online screen, or content, and test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
  • Develops accurate reports and documenting test results for various stakeholders and for inclusion in the Design History File.
  • Reviews product requirements for traceability, risk remediation and design for test.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations on specific features and designs to developers on software/firmware
  • Works on collaborative project teams in conjunction with project engineers and project managers. 
  • May serve as a senior technical member of one to several project teams concurrently. 
  • Manages system engineering, analysis, concept development, detailed design including drawing, system build, integration, verification and production support. 
  • Provides electrical and system engineering guidance to mechanical engineers and software engineers. 
  • Prepares and conducts presentations to internal and external customers. 
  • Travels infrequently to customer or supplier sites. 

Education & special training:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.E.C.E) or equivalent experience required.
  • 6+ years related experience and/or training. 
  • Experience in managing small projects and cross functional teams
  • Experience in working with medical devices- x-ray preferred.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
