We are currently seeking a Staff Software Test Engineer to join Stryker Endoscopy’s Test team located in San Jose, CA.

What You Will Do

You will partner closely with R&D to experiment with early prototypes and vet out product designs throughout the design process. You will be responsible for design verification: from creating initial test plans through documenting results in test reports that are included in regulatory submissions.  You will need great communication and coordination are essential skills as you will share and coordinate samples, test execution, test results, and timelines with a cross-functional project team. You may lead the testing on an entire product and/or managing an intern, specialist, or other test engineers.

    • You will utilize your depth of understanding in the fundamentals of the software test discipline.
    • You will apply your engineering design principles (software architecture) in your testing.
    • You will work closely with the development team by being involved early in the project phase to discover issues early on and reduce required design iterations.
    • You will determine root causes and provide solutions to optimize product design.
    • You will calculate sample size, perform data analysis using statistically supported limits of operation, and benchmarking data and marketing claims unassisted.
    • You will design and develop reusable test protocols of high complexity and quality, while considering long term usability when designing the test cases.
    • You will implement process improvements and provide guidance to other engineers on design controls and test lab practices and procedures.
    • You may develop significant changes to or generate DWIs and/or WIs independently.
    • You will apply your clinical understanding of the products and the environment.
    • You will drive test decisions for a program or system of products. Optimize Set up and configure our products, middleware and integrations to support system testing through manual or automated processes. 

    Other Job Responsibilities

    • You will work with Data Scientists and Product Managers to frame a problem, both mathematically and within the business context.
    • You will develop the team’s capabilities in data science and machine-learning, and apply them to create new data-driven insights.
    • You will research & develop Machine Learning models for security problems, in the areas of Networking, Application & Data.
    • You will research and develop state of the art techniques in the field of computer vision, and machine learning.

    What You Need

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or other related) required.
    • 5+ years of related experience required.

    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Exhibit initiative, dependability, independence, motivation, and be detail-oriented.
    • Strong background with the use of tools and programming language: JIRA, GIT (Using SourceTree), PTC Integrity, C# / WPF, C++, Visual Studio, Agile (Doc Control), Any Automated UI Test Software, Python, SQL, LabView
    • Proficiency in Agile Scrum software development.
    • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (IEC62304).
