Stryker is seeking to hire a hire a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to support Stryker’s Instrument Division manufacturing operations in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

WHO WE WANT:

As the Staff Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, evaluating, implementing and maintaining manufacturing methods, operation sequences and processes to manufacture and/or assemble components and/or finished devices.

The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will be adhering to quality and quantity standards and follows directions and blueprints to meet specifications.  You will be responsible to know and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of the manufacturing specialization, independently and may act as an Subject Matter Expert to others.

ADDITIONALLY, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Identifies and implements safety/ergonomic improvements as a priority.
  • Accountable for ensuring assigned processes and process changes are compliant and documented in accordance with Stryker procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Evaluates blueprints for the processing of parts in order to ensure manufacturability.
  • Partners with operations, materials, advanced operations, product engineering and other groups to solve manufacturing, and process issues to drive customer satisfaction.
  • May direct work of other team members.
  • May act as a project lead within operations engineering.
  • Contributes to leading in product innovation by listening and working with others and contributing new ideas.
  • Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in regulated industry (Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Device manufacturing highly preferred).
  • Manufacturing engineering experience including Automation, PLC, Software- Programming, Troubleshooting, launching & validation new production lines highly preferred.

ADDITIONALLY, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Ability to work with small hand tools, inspection equipment and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, sometimes requiring extended hours.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, industry and technical knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement many concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to analyze and correct complex product and/or process issues using independent judgment.
  • Requires wearing PPE as required by the work area.
  • Requires the ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
