Stryker is seeking to hire a Staff Engineer, Advanced Operations to be responsible for the transfer of new products from research & design into manufacturing in Davie, FL at Stryker’s Robotics Innovation Center.

We are seeking a Staff Engineer who has expertise in the areas of sealing plastic components and knowledge of production part approval process (PPAP) and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Staff Engineer, Advanced Operations you will be responsible for designing, validating and bringing new products to market.  You will specify precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety.

You will be responsible for working with external suppliers to develop best-in-class manufacturing processes and deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions. You will collaborate with internal teams to provide feedback on designs, manufacturing capabilities, and launch strategies in order to ensure a smooth product launch

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Review designs for Design for Manufacturability for complex mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Develop manufacturing process and test strategies.
  • Select and develop suppliers that will understand and comply with Stryker product and process requirements.
  • Utilize design transfer tools such as Process Flow charts, Process FMEAs, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis and Process Validation.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • 5 years related work experience required.
  • Experience with sealing technologies is highly preferred.

ADDITIONALLY, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Experience with plastics sealing technologies
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in executing complex problem-solving techniques related to manufacturing/design technical issues.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Must be familiar with production part approval (PPAP)
  • Proven ability to effectively work in a fast paced, dynamic and results oriented team environment.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
