Stryker’s Orthopaedic division is seeking to hire a Staff Electromechanical Engineer, Advanced Operations to support new product introduction of surgical imaging products in Shirley, MA.

As the Staff Electromechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on new product process development focusing on cutting edge imaging and robotic products.

We are looking for a Staff Electromechanical Engineer with electromechanical assembly experience, risk analysis, design for manufacturing & validation experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • You will develop approaches to technical problems including reducing product time to market & executing project deadlines and product costs.

  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.

  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.

  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements. Work with quality engineers to develop component specific testing and inspection protocols.

  • Support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, installation and validation.

  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental test and result analysis. Coordinate and/or participate in process review meetings.

  • Participate in process failure mode effects analysis, control plans, standard operating procedures and production part approval process generation associated with product transfers and launches.

  • Complete capability studies for in process inspection and generate subsequent Inspection documentation.   

  • Conduct measurement system analysis studies for new products and new processes.

  • Review and approve validation documentation.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering - required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering - preferred

  • 4+ years of related work experience - required

  • Design for manufacturing experience - required

  • Validation experience - required

  • Ability to read & interpret complex engineering drawings and understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing - required

  • Electromechanical assembly, supplier interaction, contract manufacturer experience - preferred

  • Work experience including power, battery, plug-in, custom electrical mechanical parts -preferred

  • Project Management experience directing work to others and delegate to suppliers & others on the team - preferred

  • Medical Device or regulated industry experience - preferred

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
