We are currently seeking a Sr Project Manager (Software) to be located California, San Jose

  • As Sr Project Manager, the products you develop will be used in Operating Rooms around the world and have a direct impact on surgical patients and hospital staff. 
  • Your work will be a critical element of how we accomplish Stryker’s mission: Together with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better.
  • You will play a hands-on leadership role, directly leading project teams to deploy new software on Stryker products. 
  • Your role is not limited to Technical Project Management and includes management of all aspects of the project. 
  • This means understanding the business case for your projects as well as the priorities for our Division so you can make smart decisions and recommendations. 
  • The efforts you lead will typically use Agile methodologies.
  • To succeed in this role, you should be a leader that people want to follow.  You should be an experienced Project Manager with a successful track record of delivering new products to external customers.  You should have experience with Agile software development.
  • You should have excellent stakeholder-management skills.  And you should have a clear, demonstrable understanding of business tradeoffs.
  • Deliver new products to market.
  • Deliver updates to existing products.
  • Integrate project plans with those of other PMs
  • Manage cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Manage risks.
  • Develop business processes needed to make the project a success.
  • Manage and inform stakeholders.
  • Ensure a positive return on investment.
  • Lead a cross-functional team and ensure all technical and business requirements are met.


  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Leadership experience with Agile software development.
  • Successful track record of launching new products to external customers.
  • Experience as a project manager.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to bring together multiple functions (R&D, Marketing, Quality, Operations, etc.) as a cohesive team
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Preferred: Experience at a medical device company.
