Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities of the Customs Manufacturing Technician include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with team members, engineers, managers, project planners & vendors to meet team goals
  • Communicate project status with team members and engineers on a daily basis
  • Assess manufacturing time and tools needed to complete each job.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability feedback to engineers.
  • Provide technical support for team members on CNC equipment
  • Utilize Master Cam or equivalent for set- up and operation of manual and CNC equipment (Lathe, Mill, Wire).
  • Hand Finishing & Laser Marking Titanium and Cobalt Chrome products
  • Operate and maintain machinery
  • Assist in development of process and safety improvements

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experience:

  • CAD and CAM software
  • Manual & CNC Mill, Manual & CNC Lathe, Grinder and Wire EDM
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Experience working in a regulated industry preferred
  • CNC programming experience at a basic level preferred
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams and providing feedback to help achieve team goals in quality, cost and delivery preferred
  • Ability to work weekday and weekend overtime hours as required

 
A minimum of a High School Diploma is required; relevant vocational or trade school training and/or apprenticeship program is highly preferred.  A minimum of 5 years of experience in a machining or tool & die making role required.
