Stryker Sports Medicine is seeking a Dynamic & Strategic Leader to Build & Grow the Medical Education Program

It his role you will be responsible for development and execution of the strategic objectives of the medical education function within the Sports Medicine business.  And you will have a direct responsibility to driving initiatives tied to the education of our portfolio to our customers.  

You will be building a high performing Medical Education team, creating and setting strategic direction, building and meeting budgetary targets, and working cross-functionally to execute medical education strategies throughout the United States.

The Sr. Medical Education Manager will be developing a robust educational team that conducts all activities concerned with the planning, development and execution of critical Sports Medicine medical education programs for North America including the roll out of Regional Field programs, National courses, Mini Denver based courses, and national Fellowship engagement. 

Also, you will be Developing and executing symposium opportunities at national meetings to train and educate on the Sports Medicine portfolio to our customers. 

  • Leverages marketing insights and analysis to make strategic choices regarding all elements of MedEd.
  • Applies team/franchise/industry knowledge to solve project issues
  • Develop and execute disease state business unit strategies and programs to achieve business objectives.
  • Coordinate with marketing team to align education programs with product launches and business initiatives.
  • Monitor North America business unit sales performance to ensure our education initiatives meet the business needs.  
  • Works with managers in key functional areas to drive business objectives.
  • Works alongside global marketing counterparts to plan and execute strategies.
  • Convey market needs and education requirements to Sports Medicine Leadership team.
  • Develop programs to increase penetration of Sports Medicine techniques in line with the business unit strategies
  • Lead execution for conference and Stryker event programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and develop rising stars
  • Work closely with the sales enablement team to continue to develop education curriculum in support of the sales force on Stryker products, programs and processes.
  • Develop education curriculum in support of customer education needs on Stryker products and programs.
  • Responsible for following Stryker Compliance Policies and executing the Health Care Professional Process and submissions
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.  Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented. 

Responsible for people management, development and engagement of a Medical Education Team

  • Develops annual and long-term objectives for direct reports. Measures performance of direct reports against success criteria and provide feedback.
  • Builds a strong team through recruiting and selecting top talent, driving  engagement and promoting development of individuals within the Medical Education Team 
  • Raises and facilitates resolution to difficult personal and process conflicts or issues within the team.  Builds cross-franchise team competence.

Stryker is Looking For:

  • 10+ years of sales and/or marketing experience in Med Tech preferred
  • 5+ years of people leadership and management experience
  • 5+ years of marketing management experience preferred
  • 3+ Years of training/education experience desirable
  • Demonstrated success leading and influencing in a global matrix organization
  • Knowledge of the Sports Medicine disease states and procedures will be an advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required / Master’s degree a plus

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 40%
