Job Description

The Senior Manager of HR Operations will provide leadership to the HR Operations Advanced Support team, as an involved leader, developer of talent, and an innovative solutions creator. This position will support the team in delivering an exceptional employee experience while building relationships with key stakeholders to create a simpler manager experience. The Senior Manager, HR Operations, will own delivery of Americas advanced Workday support, complex HR Operations projects, and oversee timely delivery of services.

What You Will Do

  • Attract, develop and retain top talent to join the HR Operations team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team while setting appropriate expectations and providing recognition; building an engaged and energized team.
  • Ensure tasks are performed in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs); partner with, and coach, team to adjust performance as needed.
  • Monitor employee and manager experience to ensure team is meeting expectations for service.
  • HR Operations optimization and growth, including, but not limited to:
  • Hire top talent as myHR Operations specialists supporting the Americas
  • Ensure appropriate training that delivers the critical skills necessary to provide exceptional service to employees and managers.
  • Develop, or oversee creation of, operating procedures, and partner with COE and HR operations leaders, to ensure end-to-end processes are documented and information is stored in appropriate libraries.
  • Empower, and partner with, team to identify areas that need additional focus assigning projects as needed to address areas of opportunity.
  • Continually evaluate service delivery and look for additional value that team can provide.
  • Lead and engage HR Operations specialists team as the main points of contact for employees and managers on a wide array of tier 2 support questions relating to Workday workforce administration:
    • Monitor the case management system, ensuring timely delivery of services according to SLA and that quality controls are in place to maintain the highest level of data integrity
    • Guide team to find resolution of complex issues related to HR programs and processes.
    • Balance improving the overall employee experience and driving operational efficiency, collaborating with other HR Operations leaders to ensure effective hand-offs between support tiers and teams.
    • Engage and advocate for the team, providing coaching and regular conversations about their performance and development
    • Make process improvement recommendations to HR Operations leaders and implement new solutions.
  • Monitor metrics to ensure quality and timely service, and to provide HR function insights.  Share process improvement and other recommendations to HR Operations leaders, implement improvements and update HR Portal and Knowledge Base content, based on these insights.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business-facing HR, COEs and other leaders, providing an avenue for them to bring their feedback and discuss solutions. Actively seek and respond to feedback from customers.
  • Regularly interact with team members in the Americas located outside Kalamazoo; ensure remote employees receive the same feedback and development activities as those in Kalamazoo.
  • Partner with the HR Operations and COE leaders to understand upcoming program or process changes and to prepare and ensure HR Operations is ready to support customers.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field of study is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and HR systems or case management system experience is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years of previous supervisory experience preferred.   
  • Strong service and customer orientation with ability to maintain confidential information and exercise independent judgment Ability to lead and plan day-to-day activities for a team and oversee their training and development.
  • Strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, determine appropriate solutions and resolve sensitive problems.
  • Strong process and metrics orientation
