Job Description

This role reports into the education and communication function within Global Commercial Compliance and Privacy and develops and executes for the Asia Pacific region global and local education and communication plans and programs to promote the company’s culture of ethics and integrity and enable an effective global compliance program.

Responsibilities:

  • Works across Compliance and business stakeholders to understand and address regional and global education and communication needs.
  • Applies expertise to develop and implement effective regional and global education and communication plans and content to mitigate risk in high-risk areas, including indirect channel management and ethical business practices.
  • Applies broad functional knowledge and skills to effectively integrate values, procedures, standards, and policies into education and communication materials; actively participates in program design.
  • Applies expertise to deliver training in-person, virtually, or via an online platform.
  • Supports and influences global and regional Indirect Channel Management teams and other functional teams to ensure compliance program and business needs are met.
  • Responsible for prioritizing multiple issues and coordinating with large project groups to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Identifies and implements best practices.
  • Manages external vendor relationships.
  • Exercises independent judgment to make decisions of significant impact to the company.
  • Peers include senior managers and directors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)

  • Responsible for developing strong relationships throughout multiple businesses and regions to foster a consistent and collaborative approach to proactive compliance.
  • Applies expertise to ensure implementation of an effective compliance program within the area of communication and education.
  • Maintains high level of knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations and periodically reviews and updates standards relating to compliance.
  • Makes recommendations to compliance leadership regarding the design, development or revision, and deployment of corporate and global compliance education and communication programs to ensure effectiveness and consistency in content.
  • Identifies, selects, and manages external resources as needed.
  • Identifies and implements program enhancements and develops relevant metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Establishes a strong tone at the top and furthers the department’s strategic priorities.       
  • Effectively interacts with leadership and provides direction to less-experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates well-developed ability to identify issues, engage appropriate stakeholders, complete root cause analysis, and assess effectiveness of solution within area of responsibility.

Education & Special Trainings:

  • Undergraduate Degree required; Graduate Degree preferred
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken) and Mandarin
  • Experience with e-learning design software such as Articulate Storyline and/or Articulate Rise, preferred but not required
  • Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years professional experience required, including minimum 2 years in compliance or a regulated industry.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation (live and virtual) skills.
  • Ability to initiate, embrace, and support change in a dynamic environment. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to oversee complex work, which is well-planned, communicated, and completed with a high level of quality.
  • Well-developed ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Well-developed ability to budget and manage expenses with high degree of accuracy.
  • Well-developed understanding of business financials and reporting and ability to effectively allocate resources for maximum impact.
  • Ability to develop progressive strategies that can be implemented across multiple regions with success.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a complete project.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective adult learning and communications principles.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to operate common office equipment (e.g. computer, printer, copy machine, calculator, telephone, etc.).
  • Must be able to review printed and handwritten materials.
  • Must be able to communicate telephonically and with large groups of people.
