Job Description

Position Summary:  The Financial Analyst will support the Finance Manager, Global IS and Lead Financial Analyst, Corporate Center in organizational reporting including non-standard management reports, operational analysis, statistical studies, and month end close procedures.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:    

  • Perform financial analysis and provide key financial information and analysis in support of executive management decision making and strategy. 
  • Participate in planning and forecasting processes working closely with the business partners for Global IS and Corporate Center organizations. 
  • Analyze and communicate monthly results, leveraging core Stryker reports where possible. Monitor corporate and other cost allocations. 
  • Review output from the shared service accounting function (e.g., general ledger, fixed asset ledger, pre-payments, journals and balance sheet) for accuracy and compliance with GAAP andregulatory reporting. 
  • Support deployment of Hyperion products to standardize financial planning and reporting.
  • Provide modeling and analysis for initiatives (e.g., vendor contracts, cost efficiency plays, investments forgrowth).
  • Work collaboratively with corporate and division/group finance teams to drive continuous improvement in finance functions.
  • Support ad hoc analysis as needed

Education & Special Training:   

  • BBA in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA desirable.
  • 3-5 years Finance/Accounting experience required. 
  • Focus on FP&A desirable.  

Qualifications & Experience:  

  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, Hyperion experience preferred. 
  • Financial Acumen – Demonstrates a strong understanding of financial concepts for the medical device industry, including reporting requirements under statutory and GAAP accounting. 
  • Business Acumen – Able to understand the business and apply financial information to help lead the broader business towards continuous improvement. 
  • Process Improvement – Able to develop and document work processes. Able to drive harmonization of processes and pursue continuous improvement. 
  • Analytical Skills – Able to develop, analyze and effectively interpret financial information, including the effects of business initiatives, regulation and industry trends.
  • Communications – Sends, receives and interprets information clearly, accurately, thoroughly and effectively. Able to distill complex financial information to non-financial professionals in a way that is not condescending.
  • Prepares materials appropriate to the audience in Excel, PowerPoint or other formats. 
  • Teamwork – Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Builds strong relationships with key players.
  • Takes a proactive approach to meeting customer needs.
  • Able to work across a matrix organization, business cultures and geographies.
