Job Description

This position will be joining our Selling Finance team within our Spine Division. Currently, our Spine Division has revenue of approximately $400M in a very dynamic market. This position will be responsible for assisting in the planning process and accounting close for our $170M field selling organization as well as managing the allocation and reporting of approximately $20M in instrumentation spend for capital assets that are utilized in our surgical procedures.

This position will be responsible for assisting in the planning process and accounting close for our field selling organization, including analyzing selling expense detail, recommending cost savings initiatives, projecting and budgeting selling expenses and explaining variances during month-end close and ongoing projection cycles. In addition, this position will support our field-based selling organization and management team through ongoing report generation, monthly reporting packages, ad-hoc analysis and assisting with all financial statement matters to help guide the team on best practices and produce an optimal profit and cash flow effect on the business.
  • Assist with month-end close through journal entry preparation and key account reconciliation
  • Coordinate and assist in all aspects of the monthly and quarterly projection cycles
  • Participate in and support the annual strategic plan and budget process
  • Provide timely analytical explanation of variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis of significant line items on the Selling P&L, such as T&E, instrument purchases and compensation; provide budget, projection and actual variance commentary for these items
  • Assist with internal reporting for business partners
  • Build and manage ongoing monthly budget v. actual reporting packages and KPIs for our sales management team
  • Responsible for reporting the financial statements of our selling organization and other Corporate required data through our Hyperion consolidation system
  • Other ad hoc projects as assigned by the Finance Director and/or Manager

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial environment, and/or diversified accounting experience. Prefer a blend of accounting knowledge with financial acumen
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines with cross-functional teams and multi-task
  • Demonstrated communication, customer service and analytical skills
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
