Job Description

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead the EFSS organization of and provide strategic guidance and direction to its >140 employees; play a critical role in continuing to develop and refine the vision and strategy of Stryker’s financial shared services organization aligned with the Finance transformation program (from a systems, process, compliance, and policy, perspective)

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the overall Finance organization and broader business; build and develop network and partnerships with key Finance and business leaders across relevant Divisions, specifically within the Europe region

• Act as the point of contact with local regional leaders to resolve concerns, understand business dynamics, cost structure, and strategy which may impact design and provide continuous feedback to the EFSS Leadership Team

• Lead the overall execution of the processes and services within the framework of compliance obligations, accepted service levels, and specified metrics

• Identify opportunities to refine, standardize, and/or streamline global financial processes and operations to enhance the capacity of the shared services group as well as the quality of services delivered; voice recommendations to senior management

• Keep abreast of external trends and benchmarks and provide revised service level commitments that are configured to regional concerns

• Prepare presentations and provide critical inputs for various meetings and discussions with senior management (e.g., FLT)

• Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of Stryker’s financial processes and systems, and ensure the existence of adequate internal controls at the EFSS

• Develop and implement ideas on preventative actions resulting from audit data

• Create a diverse and inclusive environment

• Lead the EFSS employees; identify and manage EFSS employees, educate and empower them, adapt organization design as needed over time, drive engagement and appropriate turnover levels

• Oversee goal setting, sharing of best practices, workload balancing, teambuilding, professional development, and general operating parameters of the EFSS
