Responsibilities

The Account Manager (Sr. Buyer) supports the initiatives of the Purchasing department through tactical purchasing functions.

Additional responsibilities of the Account Manager (Sr. Buyer) include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Contribute to the development of purchasing and strategic plans
  • Participate in cross functional projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Serve as subject matter expert in purchasing functions
  • Assist other team members as needed to ensure customer needs are met
  • Handle all tactical purchasing responsibilities associated with internal/external supply chain partners to maintain a high level of customer service
  • Work with Accounts Payable team to investigate, identify and resolve reasons for non-payment of supplier invoices
  • Generate requisitions and send Purchase Orders to suppliers
  • Maintain accurate dates in the ERP system and ensure all PO maintenance is addressed as needed
  • Ensure pricing is accurate and up to date prior to placing buys with suppliers
  • Provide vendors with rolling 12 month forecast
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple internal business functions to support Stryker initiatives

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred for this role.

Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experiences:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience/familiarity with large ERP platforms (e.g.: Oracle, SAP)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication, customer service, analytical and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated time management, organizational and detail oriented skills
  • Demonstrated influence skills.  Must be able to diplomatically persuade others and effectively drive continuous improvement/change
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts, both orally and written, to a broad spectrum of internal users
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and be challenged by a team-based environment which places a high degree of emphasis on accountability for quality/GMP compliance, customer service levels, inventory management and cost reduction
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
