Job Description


Partners with internal customers to develop and implement sourcing strategies with the result of providing the business with scalable sources of supply and best possible risk management, cost savings and innovation. Actively manages key supplier relationships and contributes to initiatives aimed at bettering financial and operational performance. Has best-practice sourcing expertise & market knowledge over a broad set of commodities including contract manufacturing, hardware, metals, software, plastics, cables and services.

  • Develop and implement strategies and goals for assigned commodities which support company objectives for quality, cost, and supplier development.
  • Monitor supplier performance and perform risk analysis and risk management activities in the supply base.
  • Initiate, negotiate, execute and manage Agreements related to supply chain, design and development or as required.
  • Lead supplier selection process for NPI programs and be able to work closely with Engineering, Quality & Operations teams to support NPI and production in a fast paced environment.
  • Be a critical change agent for implementation of best sourcing practices.
  • Develop a strong expertise for assigned commodities. Conduct a thorough analysis of company’s current and future material and services spend. Collect and organize related specifications and standards. Understand current market trends and conditions. Build and maintain profiles of supply market and key suppliers.
  • Perform the required due diligence related to the assessment of prospective suppliers, executing requests for proposal/pricing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring effective transition to new suppliers.
  • Work directly with suppliers to establish supplier improvement programs and strategic alliances.
  • Support the company’s supplier diversity and environmental sustainability programs.
  • Assume project management role as required for subcontracted new product development and sourcing projects.
  • Analyze trends in technologies and market conditions with respect to assigned commodities.
  • Perform cost analyses, and make versus buy analyses as required.
  • Participate in the development of supply management policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or closely related field of study preferred).
  • 5 years’ experience in sourcing, planning, purchasing, or project management.
  • Master’s degree
  • Strong leadership, customer service, problem solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organization skills
  • Excellent Communication & Collaboration skills to partner with internal stakeholders & external business partners
  • Knowledge and experience in contractual negotiations and administration
  • Knowledge of procurement, strategy and market drivers
  • Knowledge of MRP, various manufacturing processes and the importance of material controls
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Up to 30% domestic and international travel
  • Dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Office environment requiring significant use of standard office equipment, including computer keyboard, monitor, and mouse
