What you will do

  • Quality First
    • Partner with Advanced Operations and Advanced Sourcing Engineer in the Make vs. Buy process to ensure quotes and timelines for Buy are received in a timely manner.
    • Build the bridge between design project teams and sourcing to ensure launch timelines are met, by communicating any changes to suppliers through appropriate Sourcing teams.
    • Partner with Quality team to manage supplier base through supplier additions, audits, system routings, and consolidations.
    • Ensure compliance to programs including Diversity, Conflict Minerals, Human trafficking, UDI, RoHs, Carbon Disclosure, REACH, COO remediation
  • Customer Experience
    • Support new product launches by coordinating timely and accurate delivery of pre-launch material.
    • Coordinate supply chain activities between R&D and Sourcing through the new product development cycle.
    • Represent Sourcing in all R&D project meetings.
    • Support Sourcing goals by providing input to R&D on manufacturing systems, production controls, validation systems, capacity, and manufacturing cost at suppliers.
    • Produce reduction of project timelines by earlier involvement in pre-design freeze meetings to start tracking supplier deliverables.
    • Demonstrates influence on key project team members to inspire quicker overall deliverables for projects.                                                                                                                                                                           
  • Financial Results
    • Regularly communicate complete product costs versus target costs, maintain design and process change highlights to costs.
    • Maintain reporting structure by collecting and updating financial metrics including but not limited to Purchase Price Variance, Cost Avoidance, Cost Reduction, Supplier Performance, and Product Performance.
    • Engage and lead Advanced Sourcing Engineers, Sourcing and/or design teams for cost reductions.
    • Contribute to supplier cost reduction discussions and NRE reductions in conjunction w/ ASEs or Sourcing when cost increases are submitted.
    • May influence overall project costs and spend decisions.     
  • Innovation
    • Investigate, analyze and develop new suppliers to bring a world class medical device supply base to the organization.
    • Mitigate risk by implementing strategic supplier selection and support capacity assessment completions.
    • Develops know how to leverage Stryker’s Global supply base to provide innovative solutions to meet Stryker’s need.
    • Align suppliers to NPD roadmap and support cross-functional reviews
  • People Development
    • Build relationships within Stryker by becoming a value-added and sought after resource.
    • Build trusting relationships with design department with reliable and consistent results products from Strategic Sourcing.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related curriculum
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain and/or project management roles
  • Broad knowledge of good manufacturing practices and industry standards
  • Previous experience with design transfer activities in medical device industry
  • Must be able to travel as needed to support development activities at suppliers, up to 30%
  • Must possess presentation, communication skills, and influence of other project managers
  • Must possess previous project management skills or certification
  • Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed quality requirements and inspection procedures.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize work independent of specific direction/supervision.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand business processes and how changes impact the business.
  • Highly proficient in data analysis and reporting.

You may also have

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with computer-based project management tools (Microsoft Project)
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, InfoPath, and internet tools.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and Agile preferred.
