Sourcing Lead (NPI) The Sourcing Lead is a core team member in the New Product Introduction process. In this role, you will play in key role in bringing cutting edge medical technology to the market and contribute to our mission of making healthcare better.  You will work closely with our product development engineers to source and supply all the necessary components, equipment, technologies, and services required to bring a new product from concept to commercialization. This role requires an ability to build positive relationships with suppliers to improve supplier quality, costs, service, and FDA compliance. An ability to work across functional disciplines and represent the interests of these groups in working with suppliers is important. Talent for properly setting expectations with suppliers and driving supplier development to meet expectations is a key attribute for persons in this role.
Responsibilities: New Product Introduction (NPI) Specific:

  • Manage Where 'Buy' Analysis after Make v. Buy decision is complete

  • Cost negotiations for NPI projects

  • NDAs and NPI specific contracts

  • Communicate print revision changes to suppliers through the design process

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely and accurate material availability for NPI builds

  • Ensure accurate BOM maintenance and cost tracking

  • Coordinate smooth post launch material flow for Operations

  • Coordinate w/IBP, Ops through product forecasting that influences initial BPO set up

  • R&D new supplier development

Other Responsibilities:

  • Quality tracking and measurement

  • Operations/Production support with key suppliers

  • Supplier relationship development

  • Supply base risk reduction

  • Cost reduction and cost negotiations

  • Support supplier selection

  • Support supplier contract initiation, review, and approval

  • Cross-divisional supplier collaboration

  • Has the independence and authority to perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of the quality system are met

,Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Quality, or Industrial Engineering

  • 5+ years’ experience

  • Experience with supplier metrics and measurement methodologies and supporting systems

  • Supplier/Project Management experience

  • Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 (preferred)

  • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution skills (relationship management)

  • Knowledge of supplier contract terms, processes, and ability to apply

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and cost reduction methodologies

  • Knowledge of supplier management IT systems (Oracle, SAP, SRMs, CRMs, iSupply or related)

  • 10%-20% travel
