R&D Software Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the development of state-of-the-art connected health solutions.  Working in the Belfast R&D team, the successful candidate will help investigate, design and implement customer-facing applications that will support the management of connected medical devices.  Developing new and innovative applications as well as providing maintenance for existing products, the role requires someone who enjoys a hand-on approach to application development.

What You Will Do:

You will design, develop, test, debug and implement PC and smartphone applications, and other supporting utilities. Determine software design requirements. Maintain existing applications, ensuring that they are compatible with the latest revisions of the target operating systems. You will work with marketing, other software developers, electrical engineers, clinical researchers, scientists, operations, and verification engineers in a team environment to meet business and quality objectives and synthesize market needs into quality software implementation. Plan, develop, and execute tests for software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.

You Will Also:

Design/develop part of a new product or system

Design to specification and generate the required documentation for each phase of the design cycle

Understand and apply the Company Quality Procedures and actively contribute to and within, the company’s Quality System

Understand and apply all appropriate Regulatory and Safety Requirements to any product/project design undertaken or proposed

Document design changes according to Company Quality Procedures

Support the modification, redesign or maintenance of existing products

Maintain awareness of the latest technologies and design methodologies

Attend and contribute to Design Review meetings

Identify, specify and implement debugging and test requirements for designs and/or existing products

What You Need

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience

1+ years’ commercial experience of developing and deploying iOS and/or Android Apps

Experience of C/C++, and any of the following: C#, Java, Kotlin, Swift, .NET CORE

Experience of Microsoft Visual Studio, Android Studio and XCode.

Strong technical/report writing skills
