Job Description

The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst -- to be based in Kalamazoo, Michigan -- will provide direction to Stryker’s internal business units to ensure achievement of goals and objectives through consistent oversight of all goods imported and exported on Stryker’s behalf. This individual will:

  • Act as first point of contact between Customs (Revenue) and Stryker.
  • Interact with divisional and corporate stakeholders to gather information related to our products and shipments including all data required for Customs release and export compliance.
  • Ensure legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments as well as denied party screening.
  • Be responsible for movement of shipments that fall outside normal supply chain, i.e., R&D, Marketing, etc.
  • Partner with international supplier/vendors, 3PL, transportation and custom brokerage providers for Stryker to facilitate shipment release.
  • Work cross functionally with legal, regulatory, finance, quality, IT, R&D, and operations teams to achieve Stryker’s mission, vision and objectives.
  • Execute Stryker’s Global Trade compliance vision, metrics and achievements to all employees as well as senior staff on a regular basis.  Communication may include: business planning, business review, highlights, weekly meetings, etc.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in an international trade related area.  
  • Project management experience. 
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Must be able to communicate with large groups of people.

Education and Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensed customs broker preferred.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
