What you will do

We are looking for a Human Factors Engineer who is well versed in conducting behavioral research to provide empirical evidence.  You will need an advanced understanding of the theories, principles and data associated with human performance capabilities and limitations (perceptual, cognitive, motor, bio-mechanical and anthropometric) and apply this knowledge to the definition, design, and evaluation of resuscitation products.  In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Plan and conduct formative and summative end user evaluations of product concepts analyze data, document evaluation methods and results and present design recommendations to the product team.
  • Plan and conduct design validation activities.
  • Participate in the development of requirements specifications; assist in the translation of user needs and requirements into interaction/interface design solution concepts. Conduct user and task analyses, usability testing, user error analysis, and post-launch outcomes analysis.
  • Use appropriate Human Factors techniques to work with end users to determine end user behavior, preferences, and usage models and integrate these into design concepts.

What you need

  • BS in Human Factors, Usability Engineering or Cognitive/Experimental Psychology or other related field of study.
  • 8+ years of applicable experience in Human Factors Engineering of medical, business or consumer products.  Medical device experience (Class II or III) highly preferred.


  • MS in Human Factors Engineering or related field of study highly preferred.
  • Experience leading projects toward compliance with FDA Human Factors Guidance for Medical Devices and IEC 62366 highly preferred.
