What you will do:

  • The software engineer will assist in the development and maintenance of the BalanceACS (BACS) platform and ancillary initiatives. 
  • Will assist in managing complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise and be involved in long-term planning that contributes to overall business strategy.
  • Will conduct computer engineering research and development activities on projects of a very sophisticated nature involving multiple departments within organization.
  • This position is focused on contributing to the BACS platform.
  • Since this platform is large and multi-faceted, this individual will be involved in a variety of different technologies.
  • This will involve building integrations tools to work with our clients’ Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and practice management applications.
  • Will also develop various APIs for use both inside and outside the BACS platform.
  • Will also develop automated interfaces to assist in the maintenance of the platform’s operation.
  • Will excel at working with several non-technical stakeholders, designing requirements and helping to shape future development of the platform. 
  • Must also be comfortable working within a Developer Operations focused team in order to maintain application infrastructure.
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; project goals; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following software development lifecycle.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and charts.
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Writes, modifies and debugs software for customer applications.
  • Tests and documents software for customer applications.
  • Conducts systems analysis and provides recommended changes.
  • Develops safeguards and solutions for Protected Health Information of users.
  • Incorporates latest changes in healthcare compliance to ensure adhering to HIPAA or other patient protections for healthcare IT applications and tools.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) with significant experience in engineering enterprise applications. 
  • Minimum of three years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Significant experience in software design, software testing, general programming and coding, software development, and software architecture is preferred
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Python, Django framework, MySQL, Postgresql, enterprise application development, Automated testing and/or Linux/command line is preferred
  • Healthcare IT is desired
