Job Description

The Sr. Project Manager drives the system deliverables for all robotic surgery product development projects.  This role includes partnering with all of Research and Development, software, platform, and test capacities to define organizational vision, strategy & execution.  The incumbent will participate in establishing project objectives, priorities and resource requirements.  The Sr. Project Manager projects maintains system schedules so that the team meets business demands in a timely and efficient manner while fulfilling all expectations of quality. Key metrics include the project management triad of Quality, Cost, and Schedule.

  • Leverages understanding of Medical device product development & SDLC to lead System level development projects across global teams.
  • Uses both waterfall and agile methodologies with focus on incorporating iterative releases into the design and release control processes.
  • Collaborates effectively and consistently with project sponsor, key stakeholders, cross functional teams and core team to enlist project support and facilitate completion of work. Cultivates talent, acts as a coach and mentor, generates momentum while keeping teams laser focused on deliverables and managing overall project strategy.
  • Identifies project scope; coordinates with management or others to identify goals, time frame, and budget
  • Develops project plans including but not limited to goals, identification of risks, budget, resource requirements, and communicates goals with the team.
  • Develops, tracks, maintains, and manages project plan, budget, and timeline.
  • Provides reports on project status; provides additional documentation on project as needed.
  • Identifies, tracks, and resolves all project risks and issues.
  • Evaluates staffing plans and current project team resources to align with project goals. Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures project team conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Provides day to day guidance and oversight of team activities; actively works to recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Manages project transitions between functional groups and project phases.
  • Supervises project team and keeps the team morale up.
  • Resolves conflicts among team members.
  • Has the independence and authority to perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of quality system are met.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six years related experience or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to work with team members on projects to achieve goals. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with peers and managers to accomplish goals
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize
  • Proficient on Microsoft Project and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to manage deliverables in a timely fashion. Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization
