We are looking for a highly communicative and relationship driven engineer to join our Process Development team in Lakeland, FL. This role sits within our Sustainability group, it requires a project-oriented individual that has a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the latest technologies, to support our new product development (NPD) process.


What You Will Do

As a Senior Process Development Engineer - Advanced Operations, you will execute the innovation and development of assigned project elements with an emphasis on the manufacturing process, technology, and procedures required for the manufacture of new medical devices. You will use the latest engineering techniques to reduce product time to market, whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines, and product costs.


  • You will provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
  • You will ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
  • You will lead the selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements. Work with quality engineers to develop component specific testing and inspection protocols.
  • You will support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, installation and validation.
  • You will analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental test and result analysis. Lead and/or participate in product and process review meetings.
  • You will participate and lead PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP generation associated with product development and launches.
  • You will complete capability studies for in process inspection and generate subsequent inspection documentation, conduct process validation and MSA studies for new products and new processes.
  • You will work in a hands-on manner at the manufacturing site to support the implementation of new processes as specified in the development plan.
  • You will drive and execute effective communication with all stakeholders to enable project success.
  • You will provide training for manufacturing team members and ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures.

What you Need

  • B.S in Engineering - Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Innovative thinker - should be able to envisage new and better ways of accomplishing work.
