What you will do-

You will plan, direct and coordinate production activities, schedules and methods to attain goals and ensure regulatory compliance in assigned unit. You will also provide leadership and overall direction for an assembly manufacturing unit. You will build relationships and collaborate effectively with support functions (sourcing, purchasing, planning, manufacturing and continuous improvement engineering, internal and supplier quality, maintenance) and new product development teams (R&D, AO), to ensure teams are aligned and business goals are met.



Additional responsibilities:



  • Develop a vision and a strategy for the Unit aligned with our GQ&O Manufacturing and Technical Centers of Excellence



  • Understand unit business objectives and create plans for achieving targeted conditions



  • Plan, manage, develop and coordinate the activities of a unit to meet production, quality and cost objectives



  • Foster a team-based and product-focused orientation toward operational metrics



  • Focus on capacity planning, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, safety awareness, and cost reduction implementation so timely, accurate deliveries are attained



  • Foster proactive collaboration across functions and locations



  • Identify and mitigate major production risks



  • Drive a continuous improvement culture to improve customer satisfaction and eliminate waste



  • Responsible for unit P&L results, projection and budget preparation



  • Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect and/or overtime labor



  • Develop strategic plans for production based on input from division customers, factoring in department products, equipment, material and manpower variables



  • Develop and evolve an organizational structure in support of the unit strategy



  • Collect, analyze and report the performance status of the business unit



  • Select, supervise, develop, and objective-set for Unit Manager(s) and any other subordinates



  • Responsible for unit personnel compliance with company policies and corrective action



  • Develop and maintain a culture of performance, accountability and positive engagement





What you need-



  • Bachelor’s degree required



  • Master’s degree preferred



  • 10+ years related manufacturing or technical experience required



  • 5+ years supervisory experience, with proven leadership experience in a business environment required



  • Must be able to resolve complex issues of a moderate scope using independent judgment



  • Must be able to routinely make decisions that affect immediate operations and may have a division-wide effect



  • Ability to work and influence across functions and divisions to deliver results
