Requirements:

  • Responsible for developing and owning the project portfolio management process which provides the operations leadership team with visibility to assess risk, benefits, and resource needs to best support strategic objectives. 
  • Responsible for developing and driving the operations strategic planning process, ie Hoshin Kanri or similar process.  
  • Ensures alignment with functional and site PMOs. 
  • Communicates and sets expectations across divisions, functions, 3rd party vendors, consulting partners, project teams, and stakeholders depending on portfolio needs.
  • Will work with constituent Project Managers or Associates to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the organization’s business objectives.
  • Responsible to improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, influencing, training, mentoring and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation, ensure efficiency, and boost morale
  • Acts as an escalation point; drives collaboration with program and project team members to resolve conflicts, project issues, and deviations and drives them to resolution.
  • Seeks out ways to continually improve processes from lessons learned, bench marking, community discussions, etc. to meet or exceed organizational and customer needs
  • May be responsible for managing project managers and project personnel, as well as lead indirect resources
  • Coordinate the activities of 1 or more exempt and/or non-exempt employees.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated versatility and a willingness to manage and lead a team through change and ambiguity, bringing clarity and structure
  • Ability to develop a strategic vision for a department and lead the resulting process and structure changes for the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, collaborative team work, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with mid-level management
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting to and influencing executives
  • Ability to generate and explain opportunity analysis and value assessments accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and develop direct and indirect team members
  • 10+ years demonstrated project management experience in at least one discipline (Finance, Procurement, IT, R&D, Ops, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strongly Preferred: Master’s degree (MS or MBA) and Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus
