Requirements

The Sr. Manager, Indirect Procurement will be responsible for partnering with finance and spend owners in our Global Quality & Operations division (manufacturing operations) to deliver improved cost and service levels.  The Sr. Manager will also lead/support supplier sourcing activities for assigned projects and commodities (e.g. corporate spend, consulting, capital projects, etc.).


This is a highly specialized individual contributor role and will not have direct line management responsibilities. 


Specific responsibilities of the Sr. Manager, Indirect Procurement include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and drive spend leverage strategies, including policies, and driving best practice sharing and development
  • Run the RFx process (also known as go-to-market)
    • Data collection and spend analysis
    • Market Research
    • Negotiations
    • Contracting
    • Implementation and continuous improvement
  • Drive supplier management/development activity
  • Lead/support ad-hoc projects and strategies as required to ensure continuous cost/service improvement

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree and/or CPSM (Certified Purchasing Manager) is preferred, but not required.


Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years relevant working experience, with preferred experience in a Fortune 500 strategic sourcing/procurement organization or equivalent (or through large client work at a top-tier management consultancy)
  • Subject matter expert level experience in multiple direct or indirect procurement categories
  • Training in financial analysis & strategic analysis
  • Strong understanding of procurement/strategic commodity management
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and implementing commercial contracts, including supply and service agreements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, deadline environment.  Project Management experience and solid understanding of project management tools preferred
  • Experience in supplier and stakeholder negotiation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to establish and leverage strong working relationships with internal teams
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills.  Must be comfortable presenting at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP (e.g.: AS400, JDE, SAP) is required; SAP experience is highly preferred
