We are currently seeking a Senior Immigration Analyst to join our Corporate team to be located in Portage, MI or Mahwah, NJ.

What you will do

As the Senior Immigration Analyst, you will provide support to the Immigration Services group within the HR Practices function for the United States. You will act as a subject matter expert providing advice, support and guidance to employment-based foreign national employees, internal stake holders, and the internal HR community while utilizing the external immigration vendor and will be responsible for managing the cases of all Stryker foreign national employees in the United States.

  • ​​​​Manage the Immigration cases of 180+ foreign national employees throughout the United States, including making decisions on how Stryker supports those employees, the types of visas pursued, and the nature and content of other filings.
  • Provide comprehensive immigration support and guidance for inbound U.S. foreign national employees in accordance with company guidelines, best practices, and established internal and external procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and manage temporary visa petitions and permanent residency petitions in their entirety (initiating, preparation, responding to requests for evidence, etc.).
  • Monitor and track individual case milestones, expiration dates, and deadlines.
  • Proactively communicate in accordance with an established communication plan with foreign national employees and other relevant contacts regarding the status of visas and permanent residency cases.
  • Track and monitor critical deadlines and proactively identify risks and issues.
  • Provide support for inbound and outbound travel that includes business visitor’s visas, and employment confirmation letters.
  • Independently advise on position sponsorship eligibility, candidate eligibility and prevailing wage requests with Talent Acquisition Independently manage I-9 reverification process including initial intake and on-going maintenance.
  • Analyze and understand complicated issues.
  • Communicate complicated issues to employees and HR professionals to help them understand issues.
  • Develop potential solutions based on legal and compliance requirements.
  • Solicit input from HR professionals and leaders and exercise independent judgment in providing recommendations to the business.
  • Communicate with large groups of people.
  • Review printed materials and information on electronic systems.
  • Communicate telephonically and via email and other electronic means.

What you need

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited university required.
  • ​A minimum of 3 years of general HR experience required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with business immigration matters required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. government regulations affecting visas and immigration (USCIS, DOL, etc.) required.
  • Strong relationship skills and cross-cultural understanding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills that demonstrate the ability and flexibility to work under tight time constraints while prioritizing competing demands across various time zones.
  • Proven track record of strong and successful customer service skills.
  • An empathetic approach to handling employee concerns.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
